Veil + Armour: Holiness in Motherhood and Daily Life
From former feminist to exploring the Catholic feminine genius:
Learning how to be a "Proverbs 31 Woman" in the Modern World
Authentic conversations about faith, family and femininity.
Are you seeking a joyful, life-changing + Christ-centred vision of motherhood & femininity? Are you seeking authenticity, clarity, and confidence in your vocation as a Christian wife and mother, and seek to understand your husband's role and mission in the family, in his work, and in the world, and your divine calling as parents?
Sheila Nonato is a stay-at-home and homeschooling mom, and an award-winning journalist. Her work has been published by The Catholic Register (Toronto), Postmedia News - Ottawa (National Post), The Jordan Times (Amman), IRIN Middle East (UN news agency), The Canadian Press, The Globe and Mail, China Daily, The Christian Science Monitor
We will explore the Catholic Feminine Genius of women. Is popular culture the only lens within which we can view a woman's worth and purpose? The Catholic vision of motherhood and womanhood presents the "feminine genius," embodying the Christian virtues of service, sacrifice, and lasting joy and fulfillment in our God-given vocation as women, mothers, future mothers and spiritual mothers. We seek to bridge the gap between the understanding of women in the secular world vs. a countercultural Christian vision of a woman's role & power, rooted in the Bible and Church tradition.

Day 6: Freedom from trauma and past wounds. Healing with Christ.
Sheila Nonato:"Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace." The Gospel of Saint Mark, Chapter 5, Verse 34.
Sheila Nonato:In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Sheila Nonato:Opening prayer. O most Triune God, we implore you to help us heal from past trauma and past wounds.
Sheila Nonato:Reflection: Our Lady of Kibeho is the only Vatican-approved Marian apparition in Africa. She appeared to several school girls with many messages; the first being that she is the mother of the Word. "Our Lady of Incomparable Beauty" appeared under the name of "Nina Wajambo," translated as "Mother of the Word," to Alphonsine Lumurecki, a young high school student who was the first visionary. Another young visionary, Marie Claire, revealed the Blessed Virgin's message of repentance. "Repent, repent, repent," she implored.
Sheila Nonato:In sum, the Blessed Virgin's messages included an apocalyptic vision of Rwanda, possibly warning the people about the 1994 Rwanda genocide.
Sheila Nonato:May we seek to find the truth in the sacred word and contemplate the mysteries of the Holy Rosary to help strengthen us in our faith and accompany us on our path towards healing and holiness in everyday life.
Sheila Nonato:Litany: Good Saint Anne, please pray for us. Our Lady of La Vang, please pray for us. Our Lady of Penafrantia, please pray for us. Our Lady of the Cape, please pray for us. Our Lady of Czestochowa, please pray for us. Our Lady of Lourdes, please pray for us.
Sheila Nonato:Closing prayer: "Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Word, Mother of all those who believe in Him, and welcome Him into their lives. We have come here before you to contemplate. We believe that you are among us, as a mother with her children, even if we cannot see you with our eyes. You are a sure path which leads us to Jesus the Saviour. We bless you for all the good things that you continue to give us, especially because you consented to appear in a miraculous way at Kibeho, at a time when our world needed you so much. Give us always the light and strength we need to eagerly welcome your call, to convert ourselves, to repent and to live according to the gospel of your Son.
Sheila Nonato:Teach us to pray without hypocrisy and to love one another as He loved us, so that, as you have asked us, we might always be like beautiful flowers, with beautiful perfume spreading everywhere. O Holy Mary, our Lady of Sorrows, teach us to understand the value of the cross in our lives, by offering our sufferings to His. Help us to complete in our own flesh what is missing and the sufferings of Christ in favor of his mystical body, which is the church. And when our pilgrimage here on earth has ended, we will live forever with you in the kingdom of heaven. Amen."
Sheila Nonato:That was a prayer from the sanctuary of Our Lady of Kibeho.
Sheila Nonato:I n the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
